3 women, 2 others docked over N22m theft

Lagos—Three women Cynthia Anago, Ogechi Ibeh, Oyinyechi Olugbo and two others who allegedly stole goods valued at N22 million, were arraigned before an Igbosere Magistrate’s Court in Lagos.

Ango, 32; Ibeh; 27, and Olugbo 19 were docked alongside two others Lukman Uthman, 38, and Chizoba Anago 39.

The defendants are facing a three count charge of conspiracy, theft and receipt of stolen goods.
The prosecutor, Inspector Ruben Solomon, told the court that the defendants conspired to commit the alleged offences.

He said the incident occurred sometime between 2015 and June 2018, at 18, Obun Eko Street in Lagos Island.

He said the three women stole touchs valued at N22 million, property of Mr. Ifechiba Chuckwudi.
However, the defendants pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Magistrate Ope-Aigbe granted them N11 million bail each, with two sureties each in like sum, who must be gainfully employed, show evidence of tax payment to Lagos State Government and have their addresses verified.

The case was adjourned ttill August 16.
