2019: Nigerian women want more inclusion in politics

AHEAD of the 2019 general election, National Council Women,  has advocated  more inclusion and active participation of women in the body polity in the quest for gender equality and improved national growth.

Speaking  at the opening of the 18th Regular National Council Meeting on Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Ifeoma Anagbogu, Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, said the parley was necessary to address policy formulations, initiate projects and programmes and ensure implementation of projects that would enhance the livelihood of the target groups.

The meeting was hosted by the Lagos State Government, through the Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development in Lagos.

According to Anagbogu, “For the yearnings of gender equality to be balanced,  there is need for male folks to allow women more space in the 2019 general election and other polls.”
