AS the race for the 2019 governorship election in Oyo State gathers momentum, one of the aspirants, Alhaji Kehinde Olaosebikan, who is contesting the election on the platform of All Progressives Congress, APC, has advised eligible voters among youths in the country, especially in Oyo State, to be actively involved in the choice of the next governor in the state..
In a statement by the leader of his media team, Mr Femi Omolola, Olaosebikan said, beyond ensuring that Nigerians of 18 years and above register and collect their permanent voter cards, early participation by the youths in politics and development of their areas is the best way to make real meaning out of the “Not Too Young To Run Act,” recently signed by President Muhammadu Buhari. He said this while unveiling what he called the thematic ‘OJO OLA OYO’ signage proclaiming his governorship aspiration at the new garage, Oluyole Local Government area of Ibadan yesterday.
Olaosebikan said the essence of the Act would be defeated if more youths do not take the bull by the horns and participate actively in politics. “Greater participation of youths in politics would tremendously strengthen our democracy and accelerate development in various parts of the country as more quality, energetic and vibrant people would be involved in the process of governance and developing the country.
