Robber dies in accident with stolen car in Katsina

KATSINA—A robber, who snatched a Toyota Highlander from one Hajiya Aisha Abdullahi in Katsina State, died in a lone accident as he tried making away with the car.

Katsina State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Wakili, yesterday, confirmed that the suspect died in a lone accident within the metropolis.

Wakili added that three other suspects linked with the robbery have been arrested by the Police.

According to the Commissioner, “on June 27, at about 7.45p.m. a patrol team attached to Sabon Gari Division received a distress call that robbers were attacking one Hajiya Aisha Abdullahi in her house at Sabuwar Unguwar Quarters, Katsina.

“They robbed her of a Toyota Highlander, 2003 model, ash colour, with number plates AS 579 KTS.

“The police team swung into action and while moving towards the scene sighted a motor vehicle with the said description in an accident scene adjacent to GRA Jummat mosque, Katsina.

“The only occupant, suspected to be one of the robbers, died in the accident.

“The identity of the robber was revealed leading to the arrest of three other suspects.”

Wakili identified the arrested suspects as Sanusi Abdullahi aka Saga, 22; Mansur Abdullahi, aka Washa, 21, and Aliyu Salisu, aka Alious, 22, all residents of Katsina.
