For anyone who is conversant with the automobile business, there are vehicles not to be touched simply because they do not move fast in the market.
In Nigeria, the automobiles that seem to be hot in the market are the Japanese cars, especially Toyota brands.
And since the vast majority of Nigerians are either low or average income earners, regular, common cars tend to be high in demand compared to the demand for luxury cars.
But one of Nigeria’s leading automobile dealers and business moguls, Issa Adebayo of Still Autos Limited and Chief Executive Officer of Adebayo Group of Companies has other ideas in the matter of luxury cars versus regular cars.
According to him, “Common regular cars move faster in the market because lots of people can afford to buy them and because these common cars can almost be found at every car lot, hence it’s like it already has a price tag, meaning it’s very difficult to set a price slightly higher than the regular, making luxury cars a bit more profitable.
Issa Adebayo is popular for his luxury cars which he makes available to the high and mighty. He is a master in the industry he operates but fortune didn’t come smiling at the father of three by stroke of luck. He had stood in line, paid his dues and worked through the hard knocks of life.
“I started with common regular cars but as things started to get better I could afford to stock luxury cars and I see it as an investment, especially when I didn’t have a large space to keep the cars , so I would rather invest in more exotic cars to invest money and maintain my space,” he added, explaining his preference for exotic luxury cars.
Issa Adebayo said he went into the automobile business because he was quick to see how many people were eager to change their cars as they see it as a way of celebrating a new phase of life.
“I thought to myself people work hard and want to be happy by pampering themselves with a new ride and it would be a very good business for me,” he mused.
Adebayo believes there are no special recipe to success, harping on the grace of God as the prerequisite to success. He however, prescribes hardwork and innovation as necessary factors in achieving one’s goal.
God is the secret to my success plus hard work and innovation put together My advice to anyone in business is , if you don’t build your dreams today , someone else will hire you to build theirs and to those in automobile business, don’t stop even when at the top,” he stated.
Issa Adebayo is a loving father of three, happily married. He is from Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State. He is from a large family of nine.
He attended Asoland Primary School and Benvic Private School before taking his education further at Boston College, South Africa.
Apart from dealing in automobiles the Adebayo Group of Companies has interests in farming, import and export of goods from many different countries of the world.
