By Gab Ejuwa

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Delta State, Mr. Efe Duku, has said that the defection of the Coordinator of Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS, for Edo, Delta and Rivers states, Mr. Thomas  Joel-Onowakpo, from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to APC will help the the party to actualise what they planned when they were together as Alliance for Democracy members in 2003.

Duku, in a statement, said when the late Pa. Anthony Enahoro, Chief T. E. A Salubi, Chief Frank Ovie Kokori, Olorogun Great Ogboru, Sir Richard Odibo and a host of other prominent political leaders launched the South-South Rainbow Coalition, SSRC, in 2001 to galvanize and organise the people on better political leadership alternatives, Joel-Onowakpo played a pivotal role.

He reiterated that in 2002, the SSRC in Delta State under the popular leadership of Ogboru fused into the Alliance for Democracy, AD, Joel-Onowakpo popularly called ‘JOT’ was one of the prime but calm movers of the politics in Isoko.
