ARRI—NEWLY elected President of Ilaje Youth Congress, IYC, Delta State chapter,  Edema Johnson, has said that Ilaje ethnic nationality, which he described as the most peaceful tribe in the Niger Delta region, was the most marginalized by government.

Speaking at the inauguration of a new executive in Warri, Delta State, he said: “Ilaje nation has always been the most peaceful people in the Niger Delta region, yet they are still being marginalized over the years by the government and other ethnic nationalities, instead of bringing development to the them.”

Johnson, however, assured: “With God on our side,  determination and co-operation among the new executive members, we will resist discouragement from any quarter and address  the age-long issue head-long without fear or favour to bring all round development to Ilaje nation.

“We will join forces with all the leaders in Ilaje land and all the government agencies to meet the basic needs of all Ilaje youths,” he added.

Others sworn-in were  Abilogun Olawale (Vice President), Akinbo Ikujinminu (Gen.Sec),  Ogese Abimbola (P.R.O. 1), Ayenuno Gbenga (Financial Sec), Akinyomi  Banjo (Organising Sec), Ajayuni Abiodun (P.R.O. II) and Asuolemon Dele (Provost).
