DELTA State government investment in the health sector has been described as a welcome development that has impacted positively on Deltans.
The Special Assistant to the state governor on Community Relations and convener of Bridge Builders, a socio-political organisation targeting grassroots mobilisation for the state governor, Mr Peter Idion stated this while speaking with journalists on government emphasis in attracting development across all nooks and crannies of the state.
Mr Idion while making special reference to the renovated Umunede General Hospital said the state governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa and state Commissioner for Health, Dr Ononye Mordi deserved commendations for the work carried out at the hospital.
He said it was important to note that the state governor had kept faith with Deltans in terms of service delivery to the people, adding that the health sector which remains critical to the development’s of the state had received government sincere attention.
He stated that before the intervention of governor Okowa, the hospital was a breeding ground for reptiles, but today the story is totally different with state of the art equipment and an environment that is promoting a healthier Delta State
Idion opined that Governor Okowa’s administration had been a blessing to Deltans, restoring hope in all sectors and building bridges of development and unity across the state. He also noted that the state commissioner for health within a few months in office had been wonderful in meeting with the expectations of Deltans.
He described Mordi as a square peg in a square hole who had added impetus to state government campaign for affordable health for all Deltans, urging Deltans to sustain their tempo of support.
