Go collect your PVCs, Bamgbetan urge Lagosians

…as Our Community Heroes Award honours residents

The Honourable Commissioner Lagos State Information and Strategy, Kehinde Bamigbetan, has implored Lagosians to visit the voter’s registration centers in the state to register themselves or collect their Permanent Voter’s Cards PVCs, to vote the candidates of their choice in the 2019 general elections.


Speaking in Lagos, Thursday, as the Special Guest of Honour at the “Our Community Heroes Award 2018”, organised by Our Community Newspaper Alimosho in conjunction with Alimosho Joint Community Development Committees CDCs, he urged residents to be duelly registered and collect their PVCs before the registration closes. He said, “Go and collect your PVCs for the sake of the elections. Some have registered but are yet to collect their PVCs, please go and collect and ensure your votes count,”

Bamigbetan tasked them to identify with the Community Media for qualitative and informative reports saying the state government is committed to ensure adequate delivery of qualitative information at the Community level. “For true democracy to operate, the Community Media should not be brushed aside,”

Chairman of the occasion Former Military Governor of Ondo State, Rear Admiral Sunday Olukoya enjoined participants to contribute their quota to their respective communities in order to leave a legacy for their children. He said, “I thank Lagos State Governor for working assiduously to bridge infrastructural gap, I enjoin residents to join hands with him to develop the Communities.

In his welcome address, Joint CDCs Chairman Elder Ademola Osibeluwo, JP, said the event is one of the ways to celebrate and recognise the heroes.

Heroes Award” is Alimosho’s most-prestigious award that celebrates and honours individuals, groups and organisations that have distinguished themselves in community service.

Among the awardees was a Muslim the Chief Executive Officer SUWAB Plus Logistics Ltd. Mr Yusuf Suraj who spearheaded the construction of a drainage for a church.
