Special Adviser on Religious Affairs to Jigawa state governor, Ustaz Mujtaba Kwalam has called on the Federal Government to make Qur’anic competition a national event that will promote Islamic religion.

He made the call Thursday during the closing ceremony of the 2nd  Islamic Quiz competition (Islamic

Jurisprudence) which was organized by the State Islamic Education Bureau

The Special Adviser who represented the state governor, Alhaji Mohammed Badaru Abubakar noted that    the essence of introducing   the competition was to inculcate the Islamic legal code among the Islamic followers in the state and beyond.

His words “ the quiz   competition will also ginger  young men and women to develop the culture of   seeking   knowledge on to how worship Allah,as well as encourage believers to have faith and understand   the Holy prophet.

He then thanked   the state governor for his foresight in introducing   the competition   saying that   the participants competed in  Hadith, the tradition of the Holly prophet, Tafsir, Fiqihu,  Sirah, and Tahzib among others.

In her welcome address, the state commissioner for education ,Science and Technology   Hajiya Rabi Hussaini Adamu Ishaq said   government will penalize the three local governments who failed to

participate   in the competition

Babura local government,  where the governor came from emerged the overall winner   with  22points followed by   Gumel with 20 points while  Miga local government emerged  third with 17 points. Prizes    ranging from Laptop computers,  sewing machines, Plasma Televisions among others were later given to the winners.
