By Boluwaji Obahopo

LOKOJA—Kogi West Youth Alliance, yesterday, at Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, state secretariat in Lokoja, Kogi State capital, paid for the Intent Form for Abubakar Idris, signaling his approval to contest the governorship in 2019.

Abubakar Idris, son of former governor of the state, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, had before now been silent over the numerous overtures and endorsements for him to enter the governorship contest.

President and Secretary of KWYA, Abu Sadiq, and Femi Temitope, respectively, who paid for the Intent Form, hinged their decision on the confidence the group reposed on Abubakar Idris in taking the state to its next level of development.

The group listed the philanthropic nature of Abubakar, following his impact in offsetting school, medical and other bills of indigent youths in the state, as another reason informing their action.

They also added that his father’s pedigree contributed to the group’s resolve to support him and to also purchase the Intent Form.

According to them, “the experience gathered by Alhaji Abubakar Idris will greatly move the state forward.

“Abubakar has shown vigour, enterprise and is very versatile in government business. These have given him an edge above other aspirants.”
