Armed robbers kill lady immediately she steps out of bank

Dare devil armed robbers struck on Friday at Suru- Alaba area of Lagos killing a young lady identified as Njoku Uchechi, during a robbery operation near a bank.

It was learned that, the robbers shot Uchechi on her head immediately she stepped out of the bank. After which they stole the money she withdrew.

However, events took a new twist after one of the armed robbers was caught by angry mob while attempting to escape.

One of the armed robbers met his waterloo as he was caught while attempting to escape by angry mob who beat him mercilessly before setting him ablaze.

The remains of the deceased lady was later deposited in the morgue.

According to an eyewitness, Solo Dikpa, who spoke to Vanguard ”the deceased was shot in the head after stepping out of the bank, before they stole the money she withdrew which was about N150,000.”

Confirming the incident the spokesperson Lagos state police command CSP Chike Oti said the incident happened very fast.

He said, “We received a distress call that armed robbers had attack a young woman who had gone to the bank to withdraw money. By the time policemen attached to Orile divisional headquarter mobilised to the scene, they discovered that the victim has been shot dead while one of the robbers who was caught was already set ablaze by irate mob.

“Undeterred by the jungle justice metted out to one of the robbers, the policemen gave the other robbers a hot chase. The chase eventually paid off as seven suspect were arrested. The suspects have been transferred to State criminal investigation and intelligence department, panti”, he added.
