LAGOS—NIGERIA’S telecommunication company, Airtel Nigeria, yesterday, donated several cancer treatment kits to St. Cyril Cancer Foundation, to enhance rapid treatment of those diagnosed with the ailment.
Speaking during the Airtel donation of clinical facilities to the foundation in Lagos, as part of the on-going Airtel Touching Lives Season Four prize presentations, the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Airtel Nigeria, Segun Ogunsanya, urged Nigerians, especially corporate organizations, to support laudable causes in uplifting underprivileged Nigerians.
Ogunsanya said: “I want to thank everyone and to encourage you again; there is no limit to how kind any of us can be. My parting message is don’t spend your time asking why there are poor people in the world; it is a waste of time. The right question is what can we do to change it? We are always going to have poor and unfortunate people amongst us. What next is what you can do to affect their circumstances and I am encouraging you to do something.”
Also, the Executive Director, St. Cyril Cancer Treatment Foundation, Mrs. Mojisola Animashaun said: “We did not solicit for this; Airtel called us and told us that they will be coming with some equipment to our hospital. We will continue giving good quality of life to cancer patients.”
