40 Young Nigerian lawyers under 40 to be honoured at ESQ Awards

No fewer than 40 young Nigerian Lawyers under 40, are among those to receive awards and recognised for their immense contributions to the growth and economy of Nigeria through landmark commercial deals, at the 2018, ESQ Nigerian Legal Awards slated for November 4.

ESQ Nigerian Legal Awards, the organisers said that ‘The 40 Under 40’ category of the Nigerian legal awards is to celebrate 40 young Nigerian Lawyers and lawyer’s of Nigerian descent who are under 40 and below are making significant contributions to the growth of businesses and economy in Nigeria.

The awards convener and chief executive officer, CEO of Legal Blitz Ltd, and publisher of ESQ Legal Practice magazine, Lere Fashola, disclosed that this year’s edition which is the sixth, has new initiatives with the introduction of several innovative features and awards.

Fashola said that the organisation came up with the initiative to recognise the young lawyers with a view of encouraging them to develop the value of diligence, eye for goals, commitment, team spirit in developing

themselves, as they represent lawyers who will shape the future of the legal profession in Nigeria.

According to him, to encourage and recognise, distinguished 40 Nigerian Lawyers under the age of 40, ESQ Nigerian Legal awards, will celebrate young lawyers, from law firms, in house and

Government, who are the rising Stars of the legal profession in Nigeria.

“The rising stars are young lawyers who exemplify distinction and quality service delivery anddemonstrate superior leadership, reputation, influence, stature and profile as Nigerian Lawyers.”

He said that the participants for the category of award include lawyers who are under 40, years of age, from all spheres of legal practice, which includes practicing lawyers, in house counsel and public sector lawyers.

Fashola added that nominations for this category of the awards can be done through law firms, organizations and self nominations.

Other categories are law firm partners, general counsel of companies, heads of legal teams at the various governmental departments and Ministries  of Justice,senior lawyers from Diaspora.
