By Jimitota Onoyume

WARRI—TRAD-ITIONAL rulers of communities under OML30,  have alleged neglect of the communities by Heritage Energy Operation Services Limited, operator  of the oil licence,  noting that it was time  communities took steps to ensure they benefited from the rich oil deposit in their areas.

At a meeting of the traditional rulers, Community Development Boards, President Generals forums, Community Representative Committee and other stakeholders,  yesterday, in Ughelli, Delta State, a statement by the Ovie of Ughelli Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Wilson Oharisi,  called for a concerted effort by communities under the OML30 to bring an end to the alleged deprivation they suffer from Heritage, operator of the oil licence.

“The leaderships of the CDB, the CRC and the Traditional Rulers Council are not happy with the fact that we as a people do not benefit much from the business of oil exploration that is being carried out in our lands and we are here today to do something about that.”
