The senator representing Kaduna central, Senator Shehu Sani on Sunday frowned at what he called the habitual proliferation of contempt of court by all arms of the government, saying that Nigeria’s democracy is being threatened.
In statement he issued via his official tweeter handle, the outspoken senator Sani opined that oath taken by public servants to respect the constitution has turned to a Quaker oats, noting that Nigeria’s democracy is on crutches.
“All arms of Government nowadays habitually defy court orders; The FG, NASS, Political parties, the Police, Security services, The Military & Governors; or they cherry pick the one to obey. Oath of office to respect the constitution has become a Quaker Oats. Democracy on crutches.”
In another development, Sani slammed members of the ruling APC, saying that they have exposed their dirty linens in the public, following the ongoing congress conducted by the party.
“The Party always warned that we shouldn’t be washing our dirty linens in the public, with the congresses, all the dirty linens has been washed in the public and spread for sunlight”, he finally said.
