The Liberian Assistant Minister of Planning in the Ministry of Education, Mr. Dominic Kwenme says Nigeria is driving Africa into the technological realm with the ownership of Nigerian Communications Satellite, NigComSat.

And with the presence of NigComSat, an African indigenous satellite in Liberia, Kwenme also said that Nigeria has set the ball rolling for the rest of African countries to take advantage and make the best use of it.
The Liberian Minister, gave the verdict during the presentation of NIGCOMSAT products and services to the Ministry’s headquarters in Moronvia, Liberia recently.
He expressed optimism that Africa would take its rightful place in the emerging technological breakthrough despite the inability to push through its development stride, after many years of independence.
‘‘I am proud to be part of this historic meeting which is meant to drive Africa especially the underserved countries to quickly meet up with the developed world and Nigeria is doing us proud.’’
Also, the Minister of Education, Prof. Ansu Sonii explained told the NIGCOMSAT delegation that ‘‘the government of George Mennah Weah is pro-poor and that the President of Liberia is concerned with the wealth fare of the people of Liberia and is working hard to ensure that the country get out of the poverty line and enhance education for its people.
With NIGCOMSAT at their bake and beacon, Prof. Ansu said ; we need not to look elsewhere to facilitate an enduring reach that will shape our destiny and the destiny of our children.’
Meanwhile, President George Mennah Weah, while welcoming the delegation regretted that though the poverty rate in the country is of great concern to the government, said the ministry will not refuse to key into a laudable project like NiGComSat which is meant to improve the lives of the ordinary citizen.
President Weah welcome the initiative and said the government of Liberia through the various Ministries will key into it and ensure a smooth collaboration.
Earlier, the head of delegation of NIGCOMSAT Ltd, Barr. Samson Osagie, Executive Director Marketing and Business Development, informed the Liberian President, George Mennah Weah that their mission to Liberia was informed on the need to leverage on the various services of NIGCOMSAT Ltd.
Osagie said the services include: e-learning, internet service provision, land administration documentation facility and a host of others. He said that the mission target is the various ministries and other department and agencies in the country.
