Former Eagles coach at the 2010 World Cup, Lars Lagerback has urged the team to prepare well so that they can do well at the 2018 tournament in Russia.
Lagerback who walked away from the Super Eagles job after the tournament in South Africa said in a video message hosted by the NFF twitter handle that he is still a big fan of the Eagles and he wants them to excel in Russia 2018.
“Hi everybody in Nigeria. My name is Lars Lagerback, I have come to wish you all the best in the World Cup coming up in Russia. I have some good memories with the Nigerian National team and all the friends I got when I was in Nigeria. So I hope you prepare well, everything is going alright. I really look forward to seeing you playing in Russia even if I will be in Sweden watching from the TV,” he said.
Lagerback was co-coach of Nigeria’s group D opponents Iceland, during the European Championship in 2016.
