ABUJA – A group known as Kwara Youth Mandate, KYM, has warned Mr. Mike Omotosho to stop parading himself as national chairman of Labour Party against affirmation of Alhaji Abdulkadir Abdulsalam as authentic national chairman of the party by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

The group, which condemned in strong term, recent attacks on the person of Abdulsalam and activities of sponsored suspected political hoodlums, constantly invading the party’s national secretariat in Abuja, warned such attacks must reoccurred again.

The Executive Secretary, KYM, Abdulateef Nurudeen, apparently reacting to INEC position on leadership of the party warned that any further attack on the party, which ostensibly targeting the National chairman, Alhaji Abdulkadir Abdulsalam would be resisted with last pinch of their blood.

Noting that INEC position on this issue was germane, Nurudeen, subsequently, called on the Inspector General of Police, Mr. IIbrahim Idris to rise up to his responsibility by arresting Mr. Mike Omotosho with immediate effect for impersonating the National Chairman of Labour Party.

Nurudeen, who bemoaned series of attacks being hatched and launched at the party’s leadership by Mr. Omotosho, declared that “enough of this ignominy of our cherished leader by this impostor.

“I am calling on the IGP Ibrahim Idris to nip in bud the activities of this rascal because he has no place in the party having been expelled from the party following his involvement in anti-party activities.

His reign of terror is no longer acceptable in the Labour Party. We are crying loud to the authorities to urgently address this situation in the interest of peace.

It is on recorded and every concern citizen including the law enforcement agencies should cross check this fact at the office of the Independent National electoral Commission, INEC, who the authentic National chairman of Labour Party is.”

Nurudeen recalled that, “When Omotosho recently led cohort of few rascals to stage a phantom convention, which of course has no place in the constitution of Labour Party, the electoral empire came up with definite rebuttal of the action.

The INEC said it recognises Alhaji Abdulkadir Abdulsalam as the authentic Labour Party’s National Chairman. “And nothing has changed this”, he said, adding, “We can no longer fold our arms to watch this disgruntle element impersonating our illustrious son in the person of Alhaji Abdulkadir Abdulsalam, who is serving his nation at the national level.”

“He is a very respected, trusted and tested leader from our state, Kwara state and he will continue to enjoy our support and encouragement. We are resolute to save and protect his hard earned image. We vow to sacrifices our lives to ensure nothing happens to this bundle of hope.”

“We therefore, use this medium to warn Mr. Mike Omotosho to stay clear of Labour Party and its leadership under Alhaji Abdulsalami, whose temerity, integrity and administrative style has rekindled the hope of average Nigerian on partisan politics.

“This should also serve as cautious signal to political desperados in the habits of attempting to hijack party machinery through the back doors, that henceforth, would they reap the consequences of their iniquity.”
