President of the Republic of Ghana’s wife, Mrs Rebecca Nana Akufo-Addo, will be at the forthcoming Jose Foundation-organised workshop on Child Sexual Exploitation, CSE, scheduled to hold in Abuja from June 11 to 14.

A statement by Prince (Dr) Martins Abhulimhen, President of the Foundation, said the Ghanaian First Lady agreed to attend after a meeting with the management of Jose Foundation in London, noting that Mrs Akufo-Addo expressed her love for children and frowned at attacks, exploitation and abuse of minors in Africa.
According to the statement, “we also told her that a similar workshop is being planned for Ghana. Jose Foundation is undertaking a nationwide campaign and taking it across our country’s borders to other African countries in a bid to end CSE.”
Jose Foundation, it said, has been collaborating with the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development in putting together the workshop, the first on CSE, and finding solutions to the crisis of sexual abuse of children and the vulnerable in the country.
According to Abhulimhen, the workshop will train stakeholders- policymakers, parents, teachers, social workers, religious bodies, CSOs and others-on how to identify CSE, curb it and find justice for victims.
