Ahead of the July 14 governorship election in Ekiti State, Mr. Agboola Ben has emerged the candidate of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) for the election.
He emerged after three other aspirants, Osekita Victor, Fasogba Ayo Peters and Pastor Omotosho Babatunde stepped down for him during a peaceful primary election supervised by the party’s national officials and officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Agboola, shortly after his emergence promised to diversify the state’s economy through integrated agriculture.
He described AD as the most consistent party since the nation’s return to democratic rule in 1999. His words, “This is the party of leaders in Yoruba land. What is today known as Egbe Afenifere. When you look at the history of political parties in Nigeria since 1999, you will discover that AD stands out.
Disclosing his plans, he added that the health care sector would be revitalized to meet the current challenges in the state. On security, Agboola explained that his government would introduce Community Policing as against State Policing.
