Custom to newly decorated officers: Redouble efforts, key into new drive to stop smuggling

Not fewer than 33 officers and men of the Katsina/Kaduna customs command have been promoted and decorated in their respective new ranks with a call on them to redouble their efforts and key into new drive to stop smuggling activities in the country.

The Command’s Area Comptroller, Olusemire Kayode made the call while decorating the officers with their respective new ranks.

Kayode said the ongoing fight against smuggling must be vigorously pursued.

He equally called for the support and cooperation of the people whom he said needs to understand that smuggling kills a nation and must be stopped.

According to him, “the Nigeria Custom’s is re-invigorated in line with the controller General principle of dedication to service and commitment to work.

“Officers and men must key in to the new drive of bringing smuggling to barest minimal level.

“The newly promoted officers should redouble their efforts as elevation to new rank comes with greater responsibilities.

“To those of you who are yet to be promoted, it is not the end of the world, it is an ongoing process, don’t feel left out. To those who are promoted, see your promotion as a call to more duties,” Comptroller Kayode stated.
