The activist made this known in a statement he issued in Jos, the Plateau State capital, on Thursday, May 17, 2018, after some Muslim youths paid him a visit.

“We should all set aside our ethnic and religious differences, come together as a people of the same nation to pray for our country Nigeria as there is no other country we can call our own.

“I urge my Muslim brothers and sisters to use this holy month of Ramadan for deep reflections and prayers for God’s mercy and prosperity upon our nation. The challenges being faced by us as a people are not insurmountable; with prayer, unity and dedication to our respective duties, we will pull out of the challenges very soon and for good.

Hommen further asked Muslims in the state to also remember the governor Simon Lalong in prayers for God to continue to direct him in the discharge of his duties as the governor of Plateau State. He further reminded them that no one can become a leader except the one ordained by God, therefore it is the duty of religious men and women to pray for leaders.

“We must not forget to continue to pray for Plateau State and Governor Simon Lalong as he continues to work hard to restore the State to its former glory, a feat he is currently achieving with the upward direction the State is going.

“Surely, the governor deserves the support of all in Plateau State. His prudent management of resources that has seen him clear backlog of salaries he inherited and has since continued to pay workers in the state promptly is something that must be preserved. We must not allow ourselves to go back to the era where we go through Ramadan period without being paid arrears of salaries. With Lalong, such an era is gone for good. Let us all support him

“May this holy period of Ramadan usher in for us greater prosperity, peace and progress as we look forward to building a strong, virile and united Nigeria” the statement concluded.
