OLEH—LEADERS and stakeholders of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Isoko federal constituency, Delta State, have applauded the decision of President Muhammadu Buhari to reverse the resolution of the National Executive Committee of the party to extend the tenure of serving party executives.
The leaders, during an emergency meeting at Oleh, Isoko South Local Government Area of the state, country home of Chief Joe Arausi, vowed to work towards the re-election of President Buhari, saying: “The President has performed creditably and deserves a second term to consolidate the future of the nation.”
In a statement at the end of the meeting, the party leaders said: “We the APC members in Isoko federal constituency do, in line with the position of President Buhari, support the holding of congress at the Wards, LGAs, states and the National convention in tandem with section 223 (1) of the 1999 constitution as amended and section 17 (1) of the APC constitution.”
The statement read to newsmen by former member representing Isoko South constituency II at the state House of Assembly, Mr. Silas Buowe, urged party leaders and stakeholders to “ensure equity and fair play in the distribution/zoning of elective and party offices within the constituencies and the component LGAs and wards.”
