VANGUARD Newspapers publisher, Mr Sam Amuka will be a discussant at the second Itsekiri International Summit organised by the Itsekiri Summit Group, slated for April 2 in Warri, Delta State.

Sam Amuka
Convener of the group, Monoyo Edon in a letter inviting Mr Amuka to the event, said “The Itsekiri Summit Group is an advocacy group of young Itsekiri drawn from home and abroad, who have self tasked themselves with organising intellectual conferences and debates about the development of Iwere land. We bring together experts, stakeholders and patriots of Itsekiri extraction, to probe, recommend and chart a blue print for our beloved tribe.
“It is public knowledge that our areas are the most underdeveloped in Niger Delta. It is even more disheartening to know that huge funds earmarked for the development of our areas through interventionists agencies in the region, such as DESOPADEC, NDDC, Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs and IRDC, have not been committed to the strategic development of Iwere land because of the scanty physical evidence of these funds are poorly reflective of the wealth that have streamed into Iwere land over the years.
“We invite you to join us in a discussion with the Itsekiri representatives in these agencies, as we seek answers to the big question mark on the whereabouts of Itsekiri money, projects and goodies they have brought to our ethnic nationality over the years. Hence, the theme of the summit, “Strategic Importance of International Agencies and their Relatives Economic and Infrastructural Impact in Warri Kingdom.”
