THE leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the apex Igbo socio-cultural association , has described the demise of the former secretary general of the association, late Colonel Joseph Oseluka Achuzia, as a colossal loss.
This was made known by the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Dr. Nnia Nwodo, Vice President Dr. Sylvan Ebigwei among other members during a condolence visit to the family of the deceased.
Nwodo recalled that the late Achuzia played a vital role while in the military and in private life, to unite the country and he remained committed to the struggle for a better Nigeria till his last day on earth. “I enjoin you to take heart as your mentor lived a good life worthy of emulation. The association would be fully involved in the burial rites as permitted.”
In the same vein, the Vice President of the association, who is also the lyase of Obodogba Okpanam, described late Achuzia as a war veteran “whose role during the last Nigeria and Biafra civil war will remain indelible in the sand of time. “
Achuzia died when his continued wisdom in the overall development and administration of the country was still most needed. He was an Icon who will be missed by all,” Ebigwei said.
