Ogoni-Andoni-Opobo road: Apologise to Andoni, Opobo/Nkoro LGAs, Rivers govt tells Peterside

PORT HARCOURT—Rivers State Government has called on All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate in 2015 election, Dr Dakuku Peterside, to apologise to the people of Andoni and Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Areas of the state for deliberately abandoning the Ogoni-Andoni-Opobo (Unity) Road when he was the state Commissioner for Works.

State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mr Emma Okah, in a statement, yesterday, in Port Harourt, said: “The neglect of the road was the major reason why the people of Opobo/Nkoro LGA rejected their son, Peterside, and voted massively for Governor Nyesom Wike from Obio/Akpor in 2015.”

Reacting to statement credited to Peterside, Okah said, it was a political tragedy that he (Peterside) had not learned any lesson from his failure in the 2015 governorship poll in his Ward and Opobo/Nkoro council, claiming that the same fate would await him in future if he did not apologise to the people of Andoni and Opobo/Nkoro councils for failing to complete the road at least up to Opobo town.
