Gusau varsity VC urges students to be law abiding as 1425 matriculates

The Federal University Gusau (FUGUS) has matriculated 1425 students

Speaking during the matriculation ceremony for the 2017/ 2018 session at the Gusau permanent site of the institution, the Vice cancellor, Prof. Magaji Garba urged new students to be law abiding and shun any form disobedient towards their lecturers and their felllow students.

His words: “Federal University Gusau (FUGUS) is a conventional university established in 2013 in order to take education at higher level to the grass root. The university has 3 faculties which are Faculty of Science, Humanities and education and management and social science.”

He explained that the institution has lived up to expectation since it was established few years ago adding that discipline and strict adherence to guiding rules in the institution has been their watch words.

“As part of our effort to improve our staff competence, we have sent many to study abroad through the Tertiary Education Trust Fund’s (TETfund) Academic Staff Training and Development (AST & D)”, he added.

He said there are currently 27 programs which are about to be accredited soon for the University to be able to start graduation students.

He further said that the University’s Maiden Convocation would hold at the end of the year, urging the students to shun bad habits especially cultism.

“There is a university with health centre equipped with all the necessary equipment needed for tests and other diagnosis and treatments.

He then informed the students that all staff are in the University should feel free to ask questions where they needed any clarification.
