PORT HARCOURT— GOVERNOR Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, yesterday, assured of adequate security and conducive work environment for fresh National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, members deployed to serve in various parts of the state.
The governor gave the assurance at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Nonwa-Gbam, Tai Local Government Area of the state, where he declared closed, the 2017 Batch B Stream II Joint Orientation Course for corps members deployed to Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa and Rivers states.
Wike, represented on the occasion by Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Kenneth Kobani, also promised to reward outstanding corps members, just as he charged employers engaging corps members to accept and make them comfortable.
He told the corps members that “Government will do its best to provide conducive environment for you to carry out your assignment. Anywhere you are posted to serve in Rivers, you are in safe hands, I can assure you.
“You are going to play vital roles in your primary assignment and community service in the course of your service as you have been inducted into the scheme in the year preceding the general election in Nigeria. You must therefore, strive to sustain the good record of total commitment and honesty of purpose”
