OWERRI—PALPABLE fear has gripped scores of prospective Universal Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, candidates in Imo State, following their inability to access the website of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB, to register.
The story was the same when Vanguard visited all the business centres in Owerri, yesterday, to find out what the problem was.
One of the youngsters, Miss Philomena Okoroafor, lamented amidst sobs, that she had been trying to register for the examination for over a week without success.
“I have been trying to register for this examination since last week without success. The crowd is so much and this is made worse by our inability to access the JAMB website,” Okoroafor lamented.
According to her, “many of us may not succeed in registering for the examination, if the story being bandied that the registration will end today (yesterday), turns out to be true.”
For Chiagozie (surname withheld): “Some of us were very determined to remain in the business centre throughout Monday night and only succeeded in registering at 12.55am yesterday.”
