Chairman of committee, Prof. Itse Sagay, SAN, who issued the threat in an interview with Vanguard, yesterday, also said the committee would train young lawyers, journalists and members of civil society groups to monitor cases in courts across the country.

Sagay said Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Justice Walter Onnoghen, did well by directing that in all the court systems, special courts should be created for corruption cases.

He, however, regretted that the CJN made a mistake by appointing Senior Advocates of Nigeria as monitors.

He said: “These are the people who are defending looters and people who have corruption cases before the courts. You cannot be the hunter and the hunted.”
