WARRI—AN oil firm, Brittania-U Nigeria Limited, has described as untrue and cheap blackmail, allegations that it has failed to discharge its Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR, in Ogulagha Kingdom, in Delta State, saying its relationship with the area was very cordial.
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the company, Mrs Ifejika Catherine, who spoke yesterday, said that the company will not fail in carrying out its CRS to its host communities, adding that its relationship with the people of Ogulagha Kingdom was healthy.
She said the firm awarded scholarships to youths in the area, stressing that some of them were also recruited in the firm as part of its CRS to its host communities.
“Our CSR for Ogulagha Kingdom has been very robust and we have been implementing these policies to better the lot of our people in the host communities. We won’t stop doing that. All these stories here and there will not stop us. We know what it cost us to provide basic needs, scholarships, vocational skills training for the youths and small business initiatives for women in the communities,” she said.
