Ohaneze youths endorse Ikpeazu, Ugwuanyi, Umahi for 2019

UMUAHIA—OHANEZE Youths Council, OYC, has endorsed Governors Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State to run for second term in the different states in 2019, saying they have extensively executed programmes which benefitted the youths.

Besides, OYC said the three Governors hail from areas in their states, that were hitherto considered marginalized in producing is chief executive of the States, saying that giving them second chance would be a good step towards ensuring equity in their states.

In a statement by its National President, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council, said its members would mobilize support for the three governors and urged the people of the three states to offer the governors another opportunity.

OYC said while Ikpeazu has encouraged youths in many ways including motivating them through the made-in-Aba products, among others, Governor Umahi’s has done his part through the urban infrastructural facelift, promotion of local Abakiliki rice, harmonious relationship with Federal Government, and beefing of security around the state through his neighborhood security watch. The group said that Governor Ugwuanyi on his own has carried out unprecedented development in Enugu and has brought strong unity among Enugu people.

Isiguzoro assured that OYC would mobilize youths in the 95 Local Government Councils of the South East to register and get their permanent voters’ cards, PVC, to enable them vote back the governors “to complete their good job”.

“Ohanaeze Youths will aggressively mobilize every youths in the 95 Local Government Areas of the South East to register in the ongoing voters registration exercise.

“If the INEC record that eligible voters registered so far showing that North West has almost 18 million voters, North Central almost 11million, North East 9million, and South West 14 million, South/South10 million, and South East has 8 million voters is true, then the fate of our people is in great political danger.

“We call on our traditional rulers, town union President Generals, Students leaders, Churches to join the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youths in the sensitization awareness program to register massively ahead of 2019 election”, Isiguzoro said
