Following a report in the national dailies, that a move to endorse Chief Great Ogboru as sole governorship candidate of Delta All Progressive Congress, APC, for 2019 failed, Chief Ogboru has debunked the report, saying that there was no time in point that he asked APC local government party chairmen to endorse him.
In a chat with newsmen, Chief Ogboru described the report as laughable, saying that it’s a fabricated attempt from those who are afraid of his political prowess, adding that there must be a congress at the local government level and primaries held before any issue of endorsement.
He siad:”There was no such endorsement meeting with me. The APC local government party chairmen requested to have a familiarization meeting with me, show solidarity to the people because I have never met with them since I joined the APC. And that was all. There must be a congress at the local government level and primaries held before issue of endorsement. I therefore urge my supporters to be focused. Those trying to heat up the polity by blackmail are empty barrels and we therefore ask them to desist from such attitude”.
