PORT HAR-COURT—The Norwegian government has promised to support the Federal Government to achieve the restoration of Ogoni polluted environment.
The Norwegian Ambassador to Nigeria, Jens-Petter Kjemprud, disclosed this during a fact finding visit to some oil impacted communities of Ogoni, Nsisi-Oken, Goi and Bodo.
Kjemprud noted that the visit was aimed at finding out ways in which his country can help the Nigerian government in the project.
He said: “I have been planning to come here based on the UNEP (United Nations Environmental Programme) report on Ogoni. I have come to see how the international community can help the Government of Nigeria in the clean up as they have promised.”
