ABA—AHEAD of the 2019 governorship election in Abia State, traditional rulers from the seven local governments in Ngwa area of the state, have adopted Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for a second term in office.
The monarchs in a meeting held at Mbawsi, Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area, stated that Ikpeazu had, despite distraction from litigations, made them proud through promotion of made-in-Aba products, fair distribution of political offices among the three senatorial zones, provision of security and building of roads, as well as other infrastructural facilities across the state.
In a communiqué signed by Eze Monday Ugbor –Aba South; Eze P. O. Ogbonna- Obingwa; Eze R.K. Nwogu – Ugwunagbo; Eze Paul Okpanku- Isiala Ngwa South; Eze S. Ukaegbu- Osisioma Ngwa; Eze S.A. Egege- Aba North and Eze Dandy Ogalabu – Isiala Ngwa North; the traditional rulers urged governorship aspirants from the zone to shelve their ambitions and support Ikpeazu in the interest of the zone.
Earlier, chairman of Ngwa Traditional Rulers Forum, Eze Nwabiaraije Eneogwe, noted that Abia North and Abia Central senatorial zones had each completed eight years during their stint at the Government House, stressing that it will be a great injustice and threat to peace and harmony of the state to deny Ikpeazu a second term in office.
