Africa’s largest online e-commerce enabler MallforAfrica, MFA, said it would have empowered about 200,000 African women entrepreneurs by year 2020.
The firm said this at the formal launch of the MFA Women Empowerment for Global Market Access Program, WE- GMAP 2020. MFA WE-GMAP 2020’is a social impact programme that will run till year 2020, empowering 200,000 women-led businesses across Africa and enabling them access global markets by on-boarding over 2,000,000 African products on MallForAfricaonline platform which could be sold globally. MFA is a platform which provides Africans with a simple, secure and convenient platform through which customers can purchase items directly from over 150 international online retailers, such as Amazon, Macy’s, eBay, Ralph Lauren and Zara.
Speaking at the WE-GMAP launch in Lagos, CEO MallforAfrica, Mr. Tope Afolayan, said the initiative would open new doors to young women entrepreneurs who are doing great things in Nigeria.
Afolayan stated: “We have people who are doing great things, all they need is exposure. They just need somebody to help them package it. There are so many creative people in Nigeria doing creative things but all they need is somebody to help them package it.”
