Delta community urges Heritage Energy to disregard ultimatum

By Fred Okopie

Chairman of Ibruvwe Development Union, IDU, in Ethiope-East  LGA of Delta State, Mr. Duke Oniarah, has urged Heritage Energy Services to disregard the 21-day ultimatum issued to the company by one Mr. Wilson Kokharaye on behalf of Ibruvwe community.

Oniarah said Kokharaye should stop using Ibruvwe flow station in the so-called forum of flow station owners as the alleged “illegal body” was not recognised by the Ibruvwe famiily and  cluster 4 oil communities.

According to him, “This act of Kokharaye may lead to a breakdown of law and order in the cluster. We desire peace and unity for the effective operation of oil facilities in cluster 4. The 21-day ultimatum by the forum should be disregarded as Kokharaye does not represent Ibruvwe oil producing community of Kokori sub-clan of Agbon Kingdom.”

Oniarah noted that whatever ultimatum and threat issued to Heritage Energy Services by Kokharaye was not in the interest of Ibruvwe community, but for selfish reason, stressing that he doesn’t have the support of Ibruvwe community.
