Charles Ndiomu Foundation awards scholarships to children of dead soldiers

The Charles Bebeye Ndiomu Foundation has awarded scholarships to 22 children of some of the deceased rank and file of the Nigerian Armed Forces In commemoration of this year’s Armed Forces Remembrance Day.

Trustee Manager to the Foundation, Vetiva Trustees Limited, in a statement by its representative, Theresa Orji, announcing this year’s awardees, said: “This year marks the 5th edition of the awards, which was established in 2014 to ensure that children of our nation’s fallen heroes have access to education.”

She added that since its establishment, the number of awardees has grown steadily, while expressing the Foundation’s profound gratitude to the various Divisions of the Armed Forces involved in ensuring that the Foundation’s objective for the awards is achieved from year to year.

As with previous awards, recipients of the 2018 awards hail from different states of the federation, with 16 out of 22 scholarships given out to new scholars and the rest to returning scholars.

The Charles Bebeye Ndiomu Foundation was launched in 2013 to immortalize Major-General Charles Bebeye Ndiomu (CFR, FSS, MNI), who apart from being a military top-brass was a philanthropist with a passion for education and religious causes.
