Lagos State Honourable Commissioner for Home Affairs, Dr. Abdul Hakeem Abdul Lateef has urged staff of the state Muslim Pilgrims Board, to key into the vision and mission of the State Government, and fulfill its mandate to the people on conducting them to a successful Holy Pilgrimage to Makkah.
The commissioner gave the charge during a meeting with the staff of the Board held in Ikeja, recently. “There is progress in unity, so work hard as a team with sincerity, respect, loyalty, love and integrity so as to ensure success in your assigned responsibilities.”
He told them to take a cue from governor Akinwunmi Ambode who according to him is committed to touching the lives of Lagosians who voted him into power without prejudice to anyone. “Ambode needs not know you before making you happy, judging from his antecedent”, advising them to shun hypocrisy and avoid underrating since every member of 2018 Hajj operation is important towards achieving a success.
The Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Muftau Okoya in his response, assured the Honourable Commissioner of his team’s preparedness to better the 2017 Hajj operation, adding that it was poised to meeting the March 31 deadline set by the National Hajj Commission Of Nigeria (NAHCON).
to all States Board and Private Hajj Operators on completion and submission of all documentation concerning their pilgrims to the Commission.
According to him the team is targeting 3,000 intending Pilgrims for the exercise and will ensure their safety and welfare is achieved.
