lagos—THE Cherubim & Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria has said its members will only vote for a party that include restructuring in its manifesto in 2019 general elections.
Supreme Head of the Church, Solomon Adegboyega Alao spoke in Lagos ahead of the church’s Annual General Conference holding today through Sunday and taking place at the C&S Society at Badagry, Lagos State.
He also said the menace of the herdsmen had dented the image of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration beyond imagination and urged the President to rise up and curtail the excesses of the marauding herdsmen.
According to him: “It is very sad that the Federal Government has allowed the issue of herdsmen killing innocent people to drag on without concrete action taken to curb the menace. As far as the church is concerned, restructuring is the only way to go for the country to get its acts right. As a matter of fact, come 2019, our members will only vote for a party that includes restructuring in its manifesto.”
The cleric also urged the Federal Government to take the country out of the Organisation of Islamic Countries, OIC, without delay or make the country also a member of the World Council of Churches, WCC.
Also speaking, a former Secretary to Lagos State Government and a head of a constituent church, Baba Aladura Olorunfunmi Bashorun, called on the National Assembly to urgently approve the list especially of the Monetary Policy Council before it, which he said had prevented the composition of the council which is the bedrock of the nation’s economic policies
