Police advise Kwankwaso to shelve constituency visit till further notice

KANO – The Kano Police Command, Friday advised Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, to shelved his planned visit to Kano next Tuesday.


The planned visit by the former Governor had raised security concerns over possible clash with supporters of the state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, and the mainstream All Progressive Congress on a day both warring faction have political rally.

Briefing Reporters at a press conference, the state police commissioner, Rabiu Yusuf, said although Mr Kwankwaso has right to visit the state, “credible information at the disposal of the Command” revealed that there are security concerns.

Mr. Yusuf said “there is apprehension amongst the general populace and tendency to hijack the visit by some disgruntled politicians or miscreants can’t be wished away ”
