Alaba Igbo Traders Association   has   elected   new leaders to run its affairs.

Chief Valentine Obasi is the new Chairman.

Other officers are Chief Ifeanyi Nzimabi,Vice-Chairman,Comrade Jonaz Chime, Secretary,Comrade Barnabas Obi, Assistant Secretary, Mr Abalihi Ifeanyi Paul, Financial Secretary, Mr Michael O.Nwaoguwa, PRO, Mr Simon Okeke, Provost 1,and Mr Nwike Morkah, Welfare   Officer.

In his acceptance speech, Obasi   called for continued   unity among   traders, business associations and other groups operating in Alaba International market, regardless of ethnic group

‘’We must all continue to see ourselves as brothers and sisters. Alaba   International Market is a melting point for all Nigerians. We have Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, Itsekiri, Fulani among other ethnic groups. I appeal that we should sustain the friendship and unity among us. We must not do anything that will precipitate crisis or threatening the existing unity in the market,” Obasi said.

While commending the Chairman,and the Management Team of Ojo local government, which hosts Alaba International Market, he noted that there had been good relationship between the traders and the authorities.

Obasi further commended Governor Akinwumi Ambode   for transforming Lagos State.
