As PFN says Nigeria on brink of collapse

AWKA—THE Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, said yesterday that it was surprised that the governors of the South-East states and the apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, had not called for the ban of the activities of the  herdsmen, despite their horrendous activities that had led to the massacre of many Nigerians.

This came as  Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, has said that with the spate of herdsmen killings without attendant repercussion, Nigeria was no longer one.

The Christian group also noted that the country was on its brink of collapse, as security agencies appeared to have failed to keep the country together.

IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Comrade Emma Powerful, in a statement, recalled that at the height of attacks on IPOB, the governors and Ohanaeze were in the forefront for the proscription of IPOB, saying the organisation was surprised that they had kept quiet in the face of massive killings across the country by the herdsmen.

The statement read in part: “Why won’t they (governors and Ohanaeze) command their fellow Northern governors and Arewa Consultative Forum, ACF, to proscribe or ban the activities of Fulani terror herdsmen  as Northern governors and elders commanded them to do in the run up to Operation Python Dance in the South-East?

“It is on record that the South-East governors, with the support of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, openly announced before the world in Enugu that all IPOB’s peaceful activities were henceforth proscribed. That singular pronouncement gave impetus to the military to hastily label IPOB a terror group.

“What Fulani herdsmen have been doing is mass murder and orchestrated genocide, yet all the anti-IPOB voices from the South-East, South-South and South-West have fallen silent.

“They are scared of making the same demands Northern politicians forced them to make in the case of IPOB. They have suddenly gone mute and the unity of Nigeria is no longer threatened despite the senseless savagery of Fulani terror herdsmen.

“This has clearly shown that South East governors, Ohanaeze, South- South and South West politicians, with a few notable exceptions, are opportunistic charlatans that will do anything to please the North in return for power and wealth.

“Today, all of them are silent as rivers of blood flow all over our land.”

Nigeria no longer one—PFN

Chairman of the PFN in Enugu State, Bishop Goddy Madu, who said Nigeria was falling apart due to unchecked killings by herdsmen, urged President Muhammadu Buhari to make haste not to allow the country disintegrate.

Madu  said due to the senseless killing of innocent citizens by herdsmen in Benue,  Nassarawa, Taraba and Plateau states have become graveyards for innocent citizens of Nigeria.

The PFN leader said: “The Police, Army, DSS, Civil Defence have not arrested or prosecuted a single soul over all the killings going on here and there.

“Is this a calculated plot to wipe away all the Christians in the middle belt in order to Islamize it? I want to sound this caution that Nigeria is on the verge of collapsing.

“I call on political leaders and the international community to rise up and stop the Fulani herdsmen from further killings in Nigeria.”

We cannot claim to be one Nigeria anymore.

“May I advise the Fulani herdsmen to go to Sambisa Forest to grave their cattles and leave other people’s farmland. They have enough land in Sambisa which accommodate them and their cattle.”

While expressing sadness over the New Year killings in Rivers State, Madu commended the Enugu State Governor, Rt. Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi “for his security measure to secure lives and properties, which had been attacked by the same Fulani herdsmen two years ago.
