The National Coordinator APGA Media Warriors Forum, Evang Chinedu Obigwe on Sunday replied Dr. Hygers Igwebuike over his statement against Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra state and INEC, Nwafor Sunday reports.
Dr. Igwebuike had said in a national newspaper that Governor Obiano’s election was illegitimate and will soon hand him over when the time comes. He equally said that Obiano will soon be shown the way out of office.
In view of the above statements therefore, the National Coordinator APGA Media Warriors Forum, replied Dr. Igwebuike by faulting his statements which he finds insulting to the personality of the governor, INEC and noted that Igwebuike who was a factional APGA governorship candidate in the November 18 election has no moral justification and lacks locus standi in his allegation against Gov. Obiano and INEC respectively.
Speaking to newsmen in Awka, Obigwe said that the era of going to the back door to steal people’s mandate has gone and advised Dr. Hygers to watch his tongue and play a democratic politics devoid of sentiment and fraudulent act.
He likened Dr. Hygers governorship dream to a moonlight tale in the Mediterranean Sea (Libya, Italy) that has claimed many illegal immigrants life and charged him to play by the democratic rules.
Obigwe also dismissed Dr. Hygers pointless allegation against INEC, noting that the current INEC leadership remains the only independent body since the inception of Nigeria democracy that has discharged its responsibilities to Nigerians without fear, favour or tribal sentiments.
He stated emphatically that the current INEC leadership lives up to the expectations of Nigerians hence the reason why the likes of Olisa Agbakoba (SAN), fmr NBA President, others applaud its performance.
Speaking further Obigwe said, “I avoided addressing Dr. Hygers as an APGA factional governorship candidate for the November 18, 2017 governorship election because there is no faction in APGA. The judgment in favour of Victor Oye’s leadership of APGA is a proof of my statement.
“I urge Nigerians to ignore Hygers political macabre dance, for thus time will come when he will realise that he is living in fool’s paradise when Governor Obiano’s tenure ends in March 17, 2022”, he said.
Obigwe finally said that Anambra electorates will ensure that no stone is left unturn in defending the mandate giving to Governor Obiano in the last November 18th governorship election.
