ASABA—Campaign for Good Governance, CGG, has told Deltans to be wary of political jobbers and hucksters, who are bent on creating confusion and derailing the progress of the state.
The group, in a statement by its National Coordinator, Prince Obaro Unuafe, noted that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa had undertaken a paradigm shift from the ways of the past by developing a human capital model to drive economic growth, social inclusion and sustainable development in the state.
He said: “Governor Okowa’s human capital model is in line with international best practices that focus on production rather than consumption.
“For employment generation, Dr. Okowa created a special purpose vehicle known as Office of the Job Creation Officer to design and implement programmes to equip our youths with life skills, management and business knowledge to help them function as job and wealth creators.
“Through the flagship, Skills Training and Entrepreneurship Programme, STEP and Youth Agricultural and Entrepreneurs Programme, YAGEP, the office of the Chief Job Creation Officer has so far trained and established over 2,000 youths in various enterprises. That translates to over 2,000 new Micro, Small, and Medium Scale Enterprises, MSMEs.”
