…Donates rice, cash to constituents

LAGOS—MEMBER of the House of Representatives representing Anambra East/West Federal Constituency, Dr. Tony Nwoye has urged constituents to put the recent governorship elections behind them, saying that better days were still ahead for them.
Dr. Nwoye who spoke during a Christmas get-together with constituents also reassured that the Federal Government would complete the ongoing rehabilitation works along the Onitsha-Enugu Expressway
The end of year get-together was an opportunity for the estimated 7,500 constituents who attended to interact with Dr. Nwoye following his outing as APC candidate during the recent governorship election in the state. The party was accompanied with donation of gifts to constituents with each of them going home with half a bag of rice and N10,000 each.
Dr Tony Nwoye addressed his constituents who came out in their numbers and thanked them for giving him the opportunity to be their representative at the House of Representatives.
He promised not to let them down, but promised to continue to give them excellent representation in the Federal House of Representative,” a statement issued by his media aide, Mr. Paschal Candle averred.
The statement quoted Dr. Nwoye as telling the constituents to “put the pains of November 18th Election behind them as better days are ahead.”
Dr. Nwoye told the constituents that whatever happened was allowed by God adding that he has taken it in good faith. He promised to work hard to make Ndi Igbo embrace APC within and outside the state.
He also promised them that He will continue to attract projects and sponsor bills that will improve the wellbeing and welfare of Omabala people and his empowerment programmes are still intact as new beneficiaries would be shortlisted soon added to the ones already receiving empowerment.
He was further quoted as urging the people of Anambra West to be patient till January as he is working relentlessly to ensure that federal government commences work on some roads projects he attracted to the area. He specifically cited the Otuocha-Abaji-Okene Road.
On the issue of Onitsha-Enugu (Umunya axis) expressway, he expressed his optimism that President Buhari will finish that road and urged constituents to continue to support the administration.
Among those present at the function were leading political stakeholders from the area including Hon Ossy Chinwuba, a popular grassroots woman politician Ada Buhari all of whom appreciated grace on the life of Nwoye.
