PORT HAR-COURT—Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Rivers State has described the acute scarcity of PMS and its immediate effect of increase in transportation fares as the APC’s Christmas gift to the people.
Speaking during an empowerment of over 2,013 people in Ikwerre Local Government Area, of the state, yesterday, the Publicity Secretary of PDP in the state, Mr. Samuel Nwanosike, said the fuel crisis was a calculated attempt by the Federal Government to punish Nigerians when they needed to merry.
Nwanosike said: “The long queues we see today at our filling stations and the hike in the price of fuel and increase in transportation are indications that this present administration has failed Nigerians. After Nigerians voted for them they have given us pain and hardship as gift when we are to celebrate. There is hunger and suffering in the land and the people are not happy. Nigerians are hungry and in pain.”
He, however noted that the empowerment was a way of restoring hope to people of the state, adding that the economy of the state needs proper attention.
Nwanosike disclosed that the party in the LGA was concluded plans to empower 20 persons each from the 13 wards in ten different skills, stressing that human and infrastructural development of the area was of importance to the PDP government in the state.
