From Akwa-Ibom, I have interviewed over 1000 celebrities —Radio DJ

If you have been listening to “Afternoon Ride” and “Hilltop Safari” on Radio Akwa-Ibom 90.5 fm, the name, Essiet Nsudoh popularly called, Rockyfella will not ring a bell in your ears. He is one of the seasoned broadcasters in that part of the country who has etched his name in the sands of time, having interviewed well over 1000 celebrities across the world via  telephone.

Rockyfella, who  started presenting programmes on radio as far back as 1990, says it gives me a great joy when he features world renowned celebrities on his programmes.

According to him, he has lost count of the number of world renowned celebrities he has interviewed on his programme via telephone.  “On my Afternoon Ride programme,  I conduct telephone interviews with world renowned celebrities across the world. I have interviewed over 1000 celebrities.  It seems I have lost count of the number of celebrity interviews I have done over the  years” he said.

Some of the celebrities include, sons of Bob Marley, Geldorf and Ziggy, Hugh Masekela, Yvonne  Chakacha, Ron Kenoly, U-Roy, Bunny Wailer Max Romeo, Don Carlos, Marcia Griffiths, Eric Donaldson, Bob Fitts, Nkulee, Jimmy Cliff, Jerfrey Daniels of the Shalamar(defunct), and Thokozani Duke. Back home, he has also featured the likes of 2face Idibia, Daniel Wilson, Tony Tetuila, Keke Ogungbe, Onyeka Owenu, Mista Xto, Ice Prince, Feboky, Ethel Odungideh, Efe of BBN, Bisola, Uti Nwachukwu Buchi, Righteousman, Lara George among others.

According to Rockyfella, the program informs listeners about happenings in the entertainment industry as well as play old, middle and the very latest music.

Rockyfella said his dream is not just to be outstanding but also, to have the standard by which broadcasters and radio DJs  worldwide are measured. With many awards and commendations in his kitty, he could well be on his way. He is also the people’s choice MC (Master of Ceremonies). One thing is certain, Essiet “Rockyfella” Nsudoh is the radio DJ of the 21st century. How he gets the contacts of his interviewees is something that is a mystery to his listeners.
