UMUAHIA—GOVERNOR Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has awarded full tertiary education scholarship to 14-year old Miss Joy Eze Chikamnayo, who last week, emerged and served as a one-day teenage governor of the State.

Chikamnayo became the one-day governor following her emergence as the best student in an essay competition on “What I will do if I become a one day governor of Abia State,” which was organized by the State Government.

In addition to the scholarship award, Chikamnayo went home with a cash gift of N500, 000, while Miss Adaeze Oheri who served as her deputy was given a cash gift of N200, 000.

A statement issued by the Deputy Governor of the State, Rt. Hon. Ude Oko Chukwu said that a cash gift of N150, 000 was extended to Master Chkwendu Lekwauwa who served the one day governor, as the Secretary to the State Government, SSG.

Four other teenagers who did well in the essay competition and served as commissioners are to receive the sum of N100, 000 each.

They were Onoh Ijeoma, who served as commissioner for Information, Enyinnaya Blessing, who served as the commissioner for Agriculture, Orioha Gladys, Women Affairs and Onuoha Daberechi who served as commissioner for Youths.

Oko Chukwu directed the affected the students to contact Mr. Onyi Nwamah, the Permanent Secretary for redemption of their various awards.
